There are many ways your child can practice math facts for five minutes each night. It does not have to be the same every day. Below is a list of ideas previous students have suggested. Feel free to practice in your own way… The goal is for these 5 minutes to be painless and productive!

  • Parents ask students fast facts orally at dinner.
  • Parents make their own practice problems and students write their answers.
  • Parents time how long it takes their child to complete all 100 problems on the facts quiz page. Make a graph to record improvements.
  • flashcards
  • Use online math games. (See the links below.) Use math computer software games such as Number Munchers.
  • Educational stores sell math games such as Quizmo and The 24 Game. • Create your own math BINGO or Tic-Tac-Toe game.
  • Roll dice and decide to add, subtract, multiply or divide.
  • THE IDEAS ARE ENDLESS!
